BFLA/NHI Primary Care Provider (PCP) was established in 2001 through a contract awarded to BFLA by the Social Security Board. The objective of the NHI (National Health Insurance) is to provide access to affordable quality health care to persons living on the south side of Belize City.

To date the clinic has a population of over 12,000 patients of which 2500 access services monthly. From Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 8pm the clinic is opened to provide nurse/doctor consultation, MCH and S&RH services, procedures, outreach etc. by a primary care health team of 16 members.

NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) such as Diabetes. Hypertension and Asthma are areas the clinic focuses on for prevention and management of persons having these conditions.

The MCH (Maternal & Child Health) unit of the clinic provides booking of pregnant women, pre/post natal care and child immunization. The S&RH (Sexual & Reproductive Health) unit provides patients with contraceptives, pap smears, HIV tests, counseling etc. The team also goes out into the community to conduct mobile outreach for immunization, school visits, participating in health fairs etc.
